Children of William TRAYLOR d.1791 in Wilkes Co. GA (JAN 1999 by LSS) 1. Thomas b. after 1755, before 1774 (per 1800 Oglethorpe Co. GA census, but I prefer circa 1760 making him mid 20s when he married.) He is the Thomas who d. 1817 in Jasper Co. GA. He married 1st Phoebe FERGISON 13 JUL 1786 in Halifax Co. VA. He is probably the Thomas taxed in Halifax Co. 1787 with 2 horses and 1 cattle. He was the administrator of his father's estate. He appears on the 1796 tax list for Oglethorpe Co. GA. Phoebe died before the 1800 census was taken for Thomas was living in Oglethorpe Co. with 1 male 16-26 (probably a brother) and 2 boys and 1 girl, all under 10. He married 2nd Elizabeth Winn "Betsy" POWELL 4 JUN 1802 in Oglethorpe Co. GA. In his will (Jasper Co. WB 2, p. 338-9) dated 14 FEB 1817, he named his children by his first wife: Thomas, Sintha, William, Betsy Haynes and his wife "Betsy" but not "her children begotten by me" by name. Betsey Traylor is found on the 1820 census for Dallas Co. AL; she married 2nd Micajah Lyles, who transferred his right of title to property inherited by his wife from her first husband, Thomas Traylor, to their children, Winn Traylor (b. 17 MAR 1807) and Randolph Traylor. 2. They were chosen guardian by Frances and court appointed gdn of Milly, minor orphans of William dec'd. They are recorded on the 1800 Oglethorpe Co. census with four children under 10, two of each. 3. William Jr. b. aft 1755, before 1774 (per Oglethorpe Co. 1800 census, I prefer circa 1763) married Esther (some say BANKS, but not proven) circa 1786 based on ages of children on the 1800 Oglethrope Co. GA census. He appears in Wilkes Co. GA 1792 and in Oglethorpe Co. in 1796 and 1800. He died in Jasper Co. GA 1827. With John and Sarah on the 1800 census: 2 boys under 10, 1 boy 10 to 16, 2 girls under 10, and 2 girls 10-16. 5. Randolph b. circa 1767 d. before 6 NOV 1818 Lawrence Co. MS. He married Edy SPARKS, daughter of Mathew, circa 1788 in area of Wilkes that became Oglethorpe or Clark Co. GA. His younger brother, Edward, chose him guardian in 1792. By 1799 he and Edy were living in Jackson Co. GA. Even so he was co-executor of his brother's estate in Oglethorpe Co. in 1800. They were in Clark Co. OCT 1808 when he executed power of atty to William Polk to sell his 1,000 acres in Franklin Co. GA. Guardian bonds among his estate papers, located Case #5308, Box 9, dated 2 JAN 1821 list these minor children: Thomas, Elizabeth, Frances and Anna. Those paid by his estate include: Matthew, Hiram and William Traylor, Richard Sparks as guardian for minor chn (above) plus Sarah Traylor. The Nathan "Sparks" in this list probably should be Traylor for a "Nathan Traylor" purchased articles at the estate sale. 6. Hiram b. circa 1768. Appears on the 1791 and 1792 Wilkes Co. GA tax list with Mathew Sparks, John Banks, Thomas Traylor and James Brooks, but didn't own property. He does not appear on the 1800 Oglethorpe Co. GA census. 7. He appears on the Oglethorpe 1796 tax list, but not the 1800 census for Oglethorpe Co. However, his will, dated 22 AUG 1799 appointing his wife Milly and brothers Randolph and Edward executors, was probated in Oglethorpe Co. He left two sons: Reubin who appears on the 1819 Oglethorpe Co. militia list and Pascal Jr. b. late 1799/early 1800. He was in Oglethorpe Co. in 1830 and Troup Co. in 1840. Milly married 2nd 15 DEC 1800 Reese Watkins Jr. 9. Edward b. circa 1773 (underage in 1792) died circa 1830 Oglethorpe Co. GA. He married Aney BANKS 30 NOV 1795 in Oglethorpe Co. He chose his brother Randolph his guardian in 1792. In 1794, Randolph returned Edward's poll tax which indicates, what ??? Edward still not 21? Edward not in the county/state at the time? Co-executor with his brother Randolph and the widow Milly of brother Pascal's estate in 1800. In 1800 Edward and Aney had 2 children under 10, a boy and a girl, per Oglethorpe Co. census. I have a note that Wash Traylor administered Edward's estate and was guardian of Edward's minor son. I only have these children for Edward and Aney: Tilmon b. 4 NOV 1796 m. 1st Lucy Walker, 2nd Sarah Brock; Malinda b. 1801 m. Bailey Johnson; Dunston b. 18 DEC 1807 m. Frances F. Perkins in Troup Co. She chose her brother-in- law John BANKS as guardian in 1792.) She d. prior JUL 1813. She married Dunston BANKS before 1797; he married 2nd 6 JUL 1813 Priscilla Burgess. His will dated 18 SEP 1834, probated 4 JUL 1836, names wife Priscilla and children: John Thomas, Harriett Elizabeth and Simeon. From other Jasper Co. records, son John T. is probably the one who died in 1825 leaving widow Adaline S. and minor children. 11.
