Lincoln Co. Will Book M, page 82-84: Ephraim Jackson Will 1829 In the name of God Amen I Ephraim Jackson of Lincoln County and State of Kentucky being of lawful age and sound mind and memory do constitute and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form as followeth Item 1st It is my will that all my Just Debts and funeral expenses be first paid. Item 2nd It is further my will that my wife Nancy Jackson shall have the plantation whereon I [have lived -- crossed out] reside together with one negro man named Stephen one woman named Milla with [page 83] child named Martha during her life or widowhood or so long as she may think proper to keep house then all the property to be sold and equally divided amongnst my sons and Daughters hereafter named. Item 3rd It is further my will that my Daughter Sally Jackson Nancy Jackson Polly Jackson Ann Jackson and Eunice Jackson shall live with their mother Nancy Jackson on the plantation above mentioned so long as they remain singil or wishes to keep house. Item 4th It is further my will that my wife Nancy Jackson Shall have all the house hold and Kitchen furniture together with the farming utensils also two horses four cows & fifteen sheep and fifteen hogs such as she may choose of the Stock left at my death. Item 5th It is further my will that all the property not before mentioned be sold and equally divided among my [Four sons -- crossed out] three sons Joseph Jackson, Tines Jackson, James Jackson and my Daughters Celia Potter but if my Daughter Sally Jackson should wish she may take the negro girl named Kitty at what she is appraised to as a part of her dividend and further whereas my son Joseph Jackson has received one horse and saddle worth one hundred and two dollars which is to be deducted from his dividend. Item 6th It is farther my will that so long as any two of my daughters shall remain single and wish to keep house they are to do so on the plantation above mentioned. Item 7th It is further my will that no part of the property given to my Daughter Celia Potter shall ever go to pay the Debt her husband Thomas Potter has or may hereafter contract. Item 8 It is further my will that my Executor hereafter named shall give unto my son James Jackson the Property left to him as he may Stand in need of it. Item 9 It is further my will that after my wife's decease when my Daughters agree to break into house keeping all my property of every descriptions shall be sold Viz Land negros horses cattle sheep hogs household and kitchen furnitures and farming utensels then to be equally divided amongst all my children Viz Celia, Sally, Nancy, Joseph, Tinsley, Ann, Polly, James and Eunice and that my son Tinsley shall be my sole executor of this my last will and Testament.
