In the name of God amen on the Fifteenth Day of October in the Year of our Lordone Thousand Seven hundred & Sixty in the the (sic) Parish of St. Thomas in the County of Orange. Thomas Jackson Planter being very sick and weak in Body but of Perfect mind and memory Thanks be given to God therefore calling unto mind mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to Die do make and ordain this my Last Will & Testament That is to say Principally and first of all I give & recommend my Soul unto the Hands of God that Gave it and for my body Recommend it to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like & Decent manner at the Discretion of my Executors making no Doubt but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the Same again By the mighty power of God and as touching Such Worldly Estate where with it hath pleased God to Bless me to this Life I give Devise and dispose of the Same in the following manner and Form: It is my Will and I ordain that in the First place all my Just Debts and Funeral charges be paid and Satisfied.Then I Give and bequeath unto my Son Joshua Jackson one Negro boy named Ned as a Legacy. Then I Lend my whole Estate to my well beloved Wife Margaret Jackson without any interuption of the Longest liver. I Likewise constitute make and ordain my Son David & ['Joshua' inserted above line] Jackson my only sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament to Be Appraised after the Legacies are Satisfied and to render an Account of all the said Estate and to have the liberty for the olfins to bid the Day of Sale and to be equally Divided amongst my Children a Legacy to be Delivered to my son Joshua Jackson one Negro wench Named Jude ["and all her Increase" inserted above line]. Then to my son Joseph Jackson one Negro wench named Jenn and all her Increase of her Body then to my Grandson Joshua Jackson one bay mare called Dugg and my bridle & Saddle after the Deceased of Thomas & Margaret Jackson his Wife.
