OLD YOUNG CEMETERY Here is a description of the photos that we took at the Old Young Cemetery. And what it says on the tombstones. FIELD TO CEM.- This photo is taken at the edge of the field, you are looking north and the back of the photo is the wooded area where the Old Young Cemetery is located. WOODED AREA- This photo lets you know what the wooded area looks like. CEM. BOUNDARY- This photo where Wanda is standing with her arm out to her sides is where the boundary of the Cemetery, on the east side. As you can see it is hidden in the trees and brushes. In the background you can see the fence that is around the Potter Lots. POTTER LOTS 1 thru 5 - These photos show the fence around the Potter Lots. The big stone in the center has Moses and Mary on the front and Thomas and Martha on the back. It is not quite centered in the lots. (On the other side of the big stone and to you're right.) You will find the stones of Abraham and Lucinda Womach, they are along the backside of the fence, as you look at the photo, (they are close to the man in overalls. Photo: POTTER LOTS 1) INSIDE POT. LOTS- This photo is looking north; the small stone in the left hand corner is of Abraham Womach. We (David and I, and Austin and LaVerne) feel that this big stone was put there after Mary died; also the fence was place there after the stone was set. The rod poles are set in concrete. As there is not a gate to the Potter Lots. LaVerne feels that some of the children must of put the fence there. No one around here knows who put it there. A LOVING WIFE, A MOTHER DEAR, A FAITHFUL FRIEND LIES WITHIN On the outside of the rod iron fence you will find the other tombstones, some of these are broken and have possibility moved a little from the original sites. If you look around you will find some large red stones that kind of marks where the headstones belong. Please use the map as placements of the tombstones. Most of these stones face the east and the foot markers face the headstone. Some of the stones we couldn't read what the poems were. DUKE YOUNG- REV. DUKE YOUNG DIED OCT. 31, 1857 AGED 63 Y. 11 M.
