presents shall come or be made known
Sheriff

the County of Anderson in the said State Send
Wilson N. Rankin } Greeting: Whereas Wm S. Williams Surviver on or about
the twenty fifth day of July in the year one thousand eight
hundred and seventy four did exhibit his petition to partition in the
Court of Probate in the County of Anderson and State aforesaid against Sarah A. Rankin Wm R Rankin George A.
Rankin, Mary M. Blassingame Mrgaret A. Blessingame and James C. Rankin,
asking a partition of the Real Estate of Thomas F. Rankin Deceased
among his said heirs at law and the Cause being at issue before the
Honorable Court aforesaid Came on to be heard on the Eight day of
December one thousand eight hundred and seventy four when the said
Court after a full hearing thereof and mature deliberation in the
premises Did order adjudge and
16 decree that the tract of land hereinafter mentioned and
described should be sold at Public auction by Wm McGukin Sheriff
Anderson County on the terms and purposes mentioned in said Decretal
order as by reference thereto on file in the said Court will appear and
I the said Wm McGukin Sheriff after having duly advertised the said
tract of land for sale by public outcry, on the first monday of January in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy five did then,
openly and publicly and according to the custom of auction sell and
dispose of the said tract of land below described onto Wilson N Rankin for seven hundred and
twenty five dollars he being, at that price the highest bidder
for the same. Now know all men that I, the said Wm McGukin Sheriff in
consideration of the premises and also in consideration of the
sum of Seven hundred and twenty five Dollars paid me by the said Wilson
N. Rankin the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted
bargained sold and released and by these presents Do grant, bargain,
sell and release unto the said Wilson N Rankin his heirs and
assigns all that piece parcel or tract of land containing seventy acres
more of less situate in anderson County and State aforesaid on waters
of three and twenty mile Creek bounded by lands of G. A.
Rankin J. C. Rankin and others. Together with all and singular
the rights members, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the
said tract of land belonging or in anywise appertaining, and the
reversions and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof and also
all the estate right, title interest, dower, possession, property,
benefit, claim and demand whatsoever both at law and in Equity of
the said Thomas F. Rankin at the time of his death and of all the
parties to the said such and of all other persons rightfully claiming
or to claim the same, or any part thereof by from or under them or
either of them To have and to hold the said tract of land with its
hereditaments privilegies and appurtenances unto the said Wilson N.
Rankin his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof, I the
said Wm McGukin Sheriff under and by virtue of the said decree have
hereunto set my hand and seal at Anderson C. H. this eighteenth
day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy five and in the 99th year of the Sovereignty and
Independence of the United States of America.
