John B. Orr Sworn saith

That he was the acting Trustee of the Trust Estate of Sarah A Rankin from her father Thomas Orr, under the Trust Deed marked exhibit "A" in these proceedings. Maj. T. H. McCann had nothing to do in the premises, that is he never had any of the funds in his hand.

Deponent came into possession of the trust estate represented by certain notes, Soon after the execution of the Trust Deed refer'd to -- all of Said notes were collected.

Deponent remembers that the $600.00 was invested in a negroe girl, Sarah for the trust estate, and turned her over to Mrs S. A. Rankin this was done Jany 25th 1855.

In May 7th 1855 he invested $840 in part payment for a negroe woman and two children -- negroe woman named Sooky oldest child name Nelly and youngest Nancy

Deponent [Sold crossed out] traded Some of these negroes for 212 Acres of land at about $1200 -- this trade was made with Jobery McMurray about 1860 the land was bought for $1355.61 and the Trust estate not being Sufficient to pay it, Mrs S A Rankin gave her individual

note for Same about $135.61 Dollars.

A Part of the trust estate was in a negroe named Ellen or Nelly and Mrs. S. A. Rankin had the use of her till she was freed by the result of the war. And Also the full and free use of the land from the time it was bought until it was sold in December 1871 to two of her Sons Geo A Rankin and James C Rankin for the Sum of $1350.

Deponent collected Seven hundred and twenty Six Dollars on or about the 11th Jany 1873 and paid it over to Sarah A Rankin as per receipt filed.

The balance of the trust estate in Deponents hands is in a note dated 14th Dec 1871 on Geo A Rankin and J C Rankin for $675 with interest from date of Said note this note being for the balance of the purchase money of the land.
