State of South Carolina Pendleton District Know all Men by these presents that I William McMahan of the State and District aforesaid Planter in Consideration of two hundred Dollars to me paid by William Orr of the State and District aforesaid Merchant have granted bargained sold and released and by these presents do grant bargain Sell and release unto the said William Orr all that Plantation or tract of Land Containing one hundred and fifty acres being one Moriety of a tract of Land Containing three hundred acres granted to John Calhoun by his Excellency William Moultrie Esquire Governor for the time being on the tenth Day of Decr Anno domini one thousand seven hundred and eighty four and conveyed by lease and Release by said John Calhoun to said William McMahen the second Day of October anno domini one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight situate lying and being in the District of Pendleton on the North side of the twenty three Mile Creek waters of Savanah were bounded on the west and north by Andrew Warnocks Land and on other sides vacant Land when laid out being that part of said tract on which said William McMahan now lives Together with all and singular the rights members hereditaments and appertenances to the said premises belonging or in any wise Incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and Singular the premises before mentioned unto the said William Orr his heirs and assigns for ever and I do hereby bind myself my heirs Executors and Administrators to warrant and for ever Defend all and singular the said premises unto the said Wm Orr his heirs and assigns against my self and my heirs and Against every person Whomsoever Lawfully claiming or to claim the same as any part thereof Witness my hand and seal this 18th Day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and two and in the twenty sixth year of the Independence of the United States of America.

Memorandom that on the Eighteenth Day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and two before me John Wilson one of the Justices of the Quorum for the District of Pendleton Personally Came John McMahan and being duly Sworn

the Holy Evangelist and on oath sayeth that he did see William McMahen Sign Seal and this act and Deed Deliver the above Deed unto William Orr for the use and purpose therein Mentioned and did also see John Wilson Subscribe his name as a Witness with him self to the same Sworn and Subscribed the year and Day above Written before
