State of South Carolina } KNOW all men by these presents that I Thomas Orr

Pendleton district } of the state and district aforesaid in consideration of two hundred and ten dollars to me paid by William Rankin of the state and district aforesaid have granted bargained sold and released and by these presents do grant bargain sell and release unto the said William Rankin all the one half of both grist mill and saw mill as they were stated and occupied by said Thomas Orr and William Rankin on twenty three mile creek forever to said William Rankin his heirs and assigns Together with all and singular the rights members hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in anywise incident or appurtaining To have and to hold all and singular the premises before mentioned onto the said William Rankin his heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby bind myself my heirs Executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the premises unto the said William Rankin his heirs and assigns against myself my heirs and against any person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof Witness my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of March one thousand eight hundred and eight and thirty second year of the Independance of the United States of America.

Memorandum. That on the thirteenth day of april in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten before me John Wilson one of the Justices of the Quorum for the district of Pendleton personally came George Rankin and being duly sworn and on oath saith that he did see Thomas Orr sign and as his act deliver the within deed to William Rankin for the purpose therein mentioned and that Samuel Barr and James McKinney were subscribing witnesses with himself to the same Sworn to and subscribed the year and day above written before me, John Wilson.
