State of South Carolina } Know all men by these presents that I James Rankins

Pendleton District } of the state and District aforesaid for and in consideration of three hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid by George Rankin of the same place have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain, sell and release unto the Said George Rankin his heirs and assigns all the part of the land that my father, William Rankin deceased left to me in his last will and testament being a part of the tract that the sd William Rankin owned on the Twenty three mile creek in said District and is bound [by] the land left to George Rankin and William Rankin Junr by William Rankin deceased and also the plantation that William McMurry now lives on Together with all and singular the rights members, herditaments and appurtenances thereunto belongining or in anywise incident or appurtaining. To have and

to hold all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said George Rankin his heirs and assigns forever. And I do hereby bind myself my heirs and assigns to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said George Rankin his heirs and assigns against myself my heirs and assigns and agaisnt every other person or persons lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof Witness my hand and Seal this the twenty fourth day of July in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and eighteen and in the forty third year of the Independence of the United States of America.

The State of South Carolina } Before me personally came and appeared James

Pendleton District } McKinney who, being first sworn in due form of law upon his oath deposeth and saith that he did see James Rankin Sign Seal and as his act and deed deliver the within deed of conveyance for the use and purpose therein Setforth and that B. Smith and William Robinson was with himself a subscribing witness to the due execution thereof
