These retyped notes of Henry Rankin Sr. and A. M. Prichard were shared by Henry Rankin Jr. with LSS in the early 1990s. Highlighting and italics were added by LSS, who has not personally viewed the original Augusta County records. Occasionally a date, number of acres or name differs between the two men; the alternate is placed within brackets immediately following. As in all things, the researcher should view the original image to decide for himself which is correct. Transcriptions of original records from the South Carolina Department of Archives & History are true to the original except for highlighting as transcribed by LSS.
