Samuel Silas
The 68 years old widow of Samuel Silas, Ada (Matthews) Starr was the person who wrote the letter used for Samuel Silas.pdf. She very formally referred to her husband as "Mr. Starr" when providing his birth date (November 7, 1847.) She can be forgiven for not remembering the specific death information: "I think he died in 1902 was buried in Chattanooga, Tenn." She gave their marriage date as January 16, 1878 and her birthdate as November 19, 1857.
Sadly, the two children born to them were stillborn. The children are buried in the Matthews burying ground in Fayette County, Georgia.
