However, the 1850 census shows her as 7 years old (born 1843) and the 1880 census shows her as being 34 years old (born 1846). She is listed between her sister Nancy (b. 1841) and brother Henry Clay (b. 1846) on the list of his siblings H. C. prepared.
She and Robert Matthews were married December 21, 1865 by her brother, Rev. David E. Starr. They made their home in Fayette County, Georgia. Their children:
